The shock absorber is a vulnerable part during the use of the car. The performance of the shock absorber will directly affect the driving stability of the car and the life of other parts. Therefore, we should keep the shock absorber in good working condition. The following methods can be used to check whether the shock absorber is working well. So how long does the shock absorber last? How to maintain the shock absorber? Let's find out together!

Generally speaking, the shock absorber of a car should be replaced after two years of use, but it also depends on different vehicle conditions. Experienced car owners tell us that the shock absorber should be checked at least every 20,000 kilometers. The Exhaust Systems
shakes, or the two rubber piers on the shock absorber become loose, or the shock absorber starts to leak oil, and the suspension has no strength to pull the inner rod of the shock absorber. If this phenomenon occurs, it means that you love the car The shock absorber should be replaced.
Generally speaking, if the shock absorber has noise, is too hard, too soft, or leaks oil, it should be considered for replacement. However, when you find the above problems, don’t judge and replace the shock absorber prematurely. If there is a sound, you need to check whether the installation is correct; fasten.
If the above problems are eliminated, and if you answer "yes" to any of the following questions, the shock absorber should be replaced. Although it varies with driving methods and driving locations, generally after driving 20,000 kilometers, the shock absorber must be replaced. Of course, due to the impact of different factors such as load capacity, usage time, road conditions and driving methods, the shock absorber will also be attenuated to varying degrees.
Shock absorber maintenance method
In order to quickly attenuate the vibration of the frame and the body and improve the ride comfort and comfort of the vehicle, the suspension system of the vehicle is generally equipped with a shock absorber, and the two-way acting barrel shock absorber is widely used in the car.

The shock absorber is a vulnerable part during the use of the car. The performance of the shock absorber will directly affect the driving stability of the car and the life of other parts. Therefore, we should keep the shock absorber in good working condition. The following methods can be used to check whether the shock absorber is working well.
1. Make the car stop after driving 10km on a road with poor road conditions, and touch the shock absorber shell with your hands. If it is not hot enough, it means that there is no resistance inside the shock absorber and the shock absorber does not work. At this time, you can add appropriate lubricating oil, and then carry out the test. If the shell is hot, it means that the shock absorber is short of oil inside, and you should add enough oil; otherwise, the shock absorber is invalid.
2. Press the bumper hard and then release it, if the car jumps 2~3 times, it means the shock absorber works well.
3. When the car is running slowly and brakes suddenly, if the car vibrates violently, it means that there is something wrong with the shock absorber.
4. Remove the shock absorber and stand it upright, and clamp the lower connecting ring on the vise, and pull and press the shock absorber several times. At this time, there should be stable resistance, and the resistance of pulling up should be greater than that of pressing down. If the resistance is unstable or there is no resistance, it may be that the shock absorber is short of oil inside or the valve parts are damaged, and the parts should be repaired or replaced.
After determining that the shock absorber has a problem or fails, first check whether the shock absorber leaks oil or has signs of old oil leakage.

If the shock absorber has no oil leakage, check the bushing for damage, desoldering, cracking or falling off. If the above inspection is normal, the shock absorber should be further disassembled to check whether the matching gap between the piston and the cylinder is too large, whether the cylinder is strained, whether the valve seal is good, whether the valve disc and the valve seat are tightly bonded, and whether the shock absorber is tight. Whether the extension spring of the shock absorber is too soft or broken, repair it by grinding or replacing parts according to the inspection of the shock absorber connecting pin, connecting rod, connecting hole, rubber, and the situation.
In addition, the shock absorber will have noise failures in actual use. This is mainly due to the collision between the shock absorber and the leaf spring, frame or axle, damage or fall off of the rubber pad, deformation of the shock absorber dust-proof tube, and oil leakage. Insufficient and other reasons, the cause should be found out and repaired.
After the shock absorber is inspected and repaired, the working performance test should be carried out on a special test bench. When the resistance frequency is 100±1mm, the resistance of its extension stroke and compression stroke should meet the regulations, indicating that the shock absorber is basically normal.
