The Ford Ranger is offered in four trim levels: XL, XLT, Sport, and FX4 (off-road). The engine is still a base in-line four-cylinder with a robust 4.0-liter V6, while power is transferred through a five-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission (automatic only is available on the V6 model). Ford Ranger upgrades such as 15-inch Alcoa wheels, Bilstein shock absorkers, 31-inch Goodrich all-terrain tires, skid pads and limited-slip differentials were given to the FX4 model. On the road, the Ford Ranger is recognized for its practicality, convenience, and versatile style. It was named runner-up in Motor Trend Magazine's Truck of the Year Award (1998) and was included in Car and Driver's Ten Best list. Ranger has also been recognized by consumer Guide Best Buy (2005, 2006).
The U.S. automaker's newest light pickup truck, the Ford Ranger debuted in the 1983 model year. The Ranger is considered by many to be almost a "mini" F-Series model due to its similar styling and architecture. It was originally equipped with a 2.0-L OHC four-cylinder engine, but also comes in a similar 2.3-L configuration that produces 86 horsepower. Other engine options include a 2.2-liter diesel and a more powerful 2.8-liter Cologne V6 with 115 horsepower. A couple of years later, a 2.9-liter V6 replaced the original engine and brought an extra 25 horsepower. A year later, Ford introduced the SuperCab, which was 17 inches long. SuperCab shows off more room in the cab, as well as optional jump seats and power-enhanced under-hood parts. Also in 1986, the Ranger GT went offline. The GT comes with a Cologne V6 combined with a five-speed manual transmission or an A4LD automatic transmission. Other Ford Ranger accessories, such as barrel seats, anti-roll bars and aluminum wheels, complete the GT packaging. In 1989, the second-generation Ford Ranger debuted with a significant redesign of Ford Ranger parts, including new fenders, headlights and an improved front end, as well as a new grille and hood. The new 4.0L V6 replaced the strongest engine, but eventually, the more powerful 3.0L Vulcan V6 was introduced to show off the extra horsepower.

Clutches & PartsQuality of the products and materials look to be very good. Great customer service when I call with questions. Overall I think of great quality product for the price. I also bought the master slave cylinder assembly, in the parts that were made out of plastic on the original Ford unit are now all metal nice upgrade.
