How To Understand The Cause Of Cylinder Head Oil Leakage?

A slight oil leak from the engine cylinder head will not have a great impact on the engine, because removing the cylinder head cover only requires removing three fastening screws and replacing them with new parts. However, if the engine cylinder head oil leakage is serious, it may lead to insufficient oil and damage to the engine. In addition, due to the continuous leakage of oil, the oil in the fuel tank cannot meet the standard, and the owner needs to refuel frequently and continuously during driving, which may affect the mood of the owner and affect driving safety.

The reasons for cylinder head oil leakage are as follows:

1. Oil leakage from the valve chamber cover, oil leakage from the engine timing cover, and loose or damaged oil drain screw of the oil pan;

Solution:

If oil leakage is caused by the poor sealing performance of the bonnet, the bonnet gasket should be replaced.

If the engine timing cover leaks oil, it is necessary to disassemble and replace the engine timing cover and reapply the glue.

If the oil drain screw of the oil pan is loose or damaged, just tighten the oil drain screw or replace it.

2. If the oil drain screw gasket is not replaced for a long time, it will cause oil leakage due to poor sealing, oil leakage from the oil filter, oil leakage from the oil pan of the car engine, and oil leakage from the crankshaft oil seal.

Solution:

If the oil drain screw gasket is not replaced for a long time, it will cause poor sealing and oil leakage, and the gasket needs to be replaced. It is best to replace the gasket on time according to the maintenance cycle.

The oil filter is leaking. When the oil filter is installed too loose or too tight, or an unqualified oil filter is used, it needs to be replaced with a new one.

The engine oil pan leaks or the cylinder block is broken, and the gasket of the oil pan is aging. To remove and replace the oil pan, replace the gasket and reglue.

How to get the cylinder head bolt broken?

Treatment method: 1. The bolt taker is to use a small electric drill to drill a small hole in the surface of the broken bolt and then uses a tap with inverted teeth to take out the broken bolt.

2. If the cone is broken, you can drop a few drops of engine oil or kerosene first. If not available, sour vinegar and cola can be substituted. After dripping, it is best to wait a few minutes to allow the broken cone to slightly corrode and lubricate. Then, lightly tap the broken cone with a small copper rod to get it out. Finally, use needle-nose pliers to pad the thin steel paper, and gently twist it back and forth until it is twisted out.

3. If the broken bolt is troublesome, you can also consider using electric welding to weld a nut on the broken bolt head. Be careful not to burn the bolt-hole teeth when soldering. After the nut has cooled down, the broken bolt can be unscrewed.

If the broken bolt is not broken, but very shallow, you can use a cutting grinder to slightly polish the surface of the cylinder until the broken bolt head is exposed. After the broken bolts are removed in three ways, the surface layer of the cylinder body that has just been polished and polished is repaired by replacing the metal repair agent, and the surface is smoothed.
