How many of these functions of side-view mirrors do you know? Part 1

The side view mirror is a tool used by the driver to directly obtain external information from the rear, side, and bottom of the car while sitting in the driver's seat. It aims to facilitate driver operation, prevent driving safety incidents, and ensure personal safety.

Here are some of the functions found on modern side view mirrors, apart from providing rear visibility:

Electric adjustment: A common feature nowadays, allowing the driver to adjust the angles of the side mirror glass effortlessly using a small control knob on the door.

Electric heating: Embedded electric heating wires behind the mirror glass ensure clear visibility in rainy or foggy weather, providing a clear view of the rear even in changing weather conditions.

Automatic folding when locked/meeting: This enables the mirrors to automatically fold when passing through narrow areas, improving vehicle maneuverability. When the driver locks the car or encounters another vehicle, the mirrors fold automatically, protecting the mirror surface and reducing parking space requirements, effectively preventing scratches.

Memory function: Driver identity recognition system that stores personalized settings for up to 12 items, including ACC, MIB, seat position, and side view mirror adjustments, with separate profiles for main and spare keys. This feature offers convenience for different drivers, eliminating the need to readjust settings every time a different person drives the vehicle.

Automatic tilting during reverse gear engagement: When the control knob is set to the "R" (reverse) position and the vehicle is in reverse gear, the right-side mirror automatically adjusts downward to enhance visibility, providing practical convenience during parking and reversing.

LED turn signal lights and mini windows: side view mirrors are integrated with LED turn signal lights and mini windows, making them more noticeable, stylish, and dynamic.

Waterproof design, water channeling: The exterior housing of the side view mirror is designed with waterproof construction, ensuring that it remains unaffected by water or damage during rainy weather or car washes. At the upper edge of the mirror housing, rainwater channeling grooves are incorporated to effectively prevent water from splashing onto the rear of the mirror body, thus avoiding any interference with visibility.

Blind spot monitoring alert: The blind spot monitoring system engages when the vehicle's speed exceeds 30 km/h. With the assistance of sensors, it can detect vehicles within a range of 30 meters in the side and rear areas. If there is a potential danger while changing lanes, a warning light will illuminate the side view  If the driver continues to activate the turn signal after the warning light turns on, the intensity of the warning light will increase and start flashing.
