GMC Brings AT4X Off-Road Trim to Sierra HD Lineup

The Sierra 2500 AT4X largely mirrors the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 ZR2, as it's only available as a four-wheel-drive cab. It also gets the same 1.5-inch suspension lifts, Multimatic Dynamic Suspension Spool Valve dampers, electronically locking rear differential, red tow hooks, and 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory all-terrain tires mounted on 18-inch wheels. The AT4X also features trim-specific front upper and lower control arms and knuckles, larger steel transfer case skid plates, and front aluminum skid plates. The AT4X AEV Edition features 1.6-inch suspension lifts, a stamped steel bumper with recovery points, unique 18-inch Salta wheels, and a front winch feature. Steel skid plates help protect vulnerable areas like the steering rack from damage.

The interior gets an AT4X-exclusive color called Obsidian Rush with wood trim, and leather front seats with massage functions are standard. Also standard is a new 13.4-inch infotainment system, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 15-inch head-up display, and 12-speaker Bose stereo. The AEV version features the AEV logo on the front headrests and floor mats.

A new off-road mode allows the driver to adjust various vehicle settings, such as traction and stability control; it also alters shift patterns and throttle progression to improve performance and control off-road. Like the rest of the 2024 Sierra HD lineup, the AT4X is loaded with plenty of towing tech, including Transparent Trailer View, Trailer Blind Spot Monitoring, Adaptive Cruise Control with Trailer, and 14 Camera Views.

Performance comes from the 2024 Sierra HD's base 6.6-liter V-8 that makes 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque; a 6.6-liter turbodiesel V-8 makes 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque. Both engines are mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
